Cat - puke - bang!
This is Scratch. As you can see, she likes to stay on top of technology, and thinks a monitor is a nice warm place to sleep. She also thinks a keyboard is a pretty good springboard to get there, especially without warning and when someone is typing! Those of you who own cats might guess where this is going but...
One day, I'm sitting at this screen, when I hear the sound of young girls screaming and what sounds like a firecracker going off upstairs! Then the upstairs smoke alarm goes off.
So I investigate, to be met by the smell of electrics burning, the cause being the computer screen on the landing, which dearly beloved cat has just thrown up over.
Anyway, I pull the plug at the back and sparking stops. Monitor now refuses to work. Fortunately, I'm a compulsive hoarder of IT kit, so a few minutes later the girls had another monitor and normality was restored.
Selene was sleeping off a night shift, heard the noise, then "cat - puke - bang!" followed by my voice sorting it out, so she went straight back to sleep.
Said monitor is now scrap, because dearly beloved cat did it again! (not quite so much sparking this time!) Not to be outdone, I again raided my stock of hoarded kit, but this time added a sophisticated cat repeller, to stop said cat settling on the monitor again!
If she destroys this one, we might just have to get a flat screen for this computer. That'll teach her!
